Everything DiSC® Management is a simple management style assessment tool that offers information to help you understand your own management style better and how to better connect with people whose priorities and preferences differ from your own.

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to: 

  1. Identify and employ new ways to work more effectively with their manager.
  2. Identify the motivators and demotivators of their employees.
  3. Recognize the strengths and weaknesses of their personal management style and how they contribute to an effective workplace.
  4. Collaborate effectively with other employees, assuring their team is as healthy as possible, and without dysfunction.

Everything DiSC Work of Leaders®

Everything DiSC Work of Leaders® focuses on helping leaders understand their own leadership styles and how their tendencies influence their effectiveness in specific leadership situations. Everything DiSC Work of Leaders is a targeted assessment and facilitation that delves deeply into the drivers and behavior continua of the three-step process. Each participant will receive a DiSC®-based profile that has been specifically prepared just for them. The profile includes their own unique DiSC style as well as their tendencies in every driver and behavioral continua.

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to: 

  1. Use their own DiSC style to recognize the priorities and tendencies that shape their approach to the fundamental work of leaders: Creating a Vision, Building Alignment, and Championing Execution.
  2. Understand how to play to their strengths and overcome challenges to improve their leadership effectiveness.
  3. Identify strategies to develop preferred behaviors based on context-specific best practices. 

Everything DiSC 363® for Leaders

We all know leaders who exemplify leadership. They’re stand-out individuals who take their jobs seriously and meet the needs of those they lead with humility, affirmation, energy, and high expectations. No two leaders lead alike. Two can be equally successful, but take very different approaches to leadership.

Everything DiSC 363® for Leaders describes a rich spectrum of behaviors called Eight Approaches to Effective Leadership. While each leader has their own emphasized approaches, effective leaders succeed when embracing the best of each approach—Pioneering, Energizing, Affirming, Inclusive, Humble, Deliberate, Resolute, and Commanding.

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to: 

  1. Identify which of the Eight Approaches to Effective Leadership—and the three behavioral practices underlying each approach—are their strengths and which ones would benefit from further development.
  2. Use the three personalized strategies for becoming a more effective leader based on specific rater feedback.
  3. Learn and develop the three strategies to become a more effective leader.

No Time to SWOT

What if you could spend a fraction of the time on processes that not only generates measurable outcomes, but also short-term results?  You can!  

In this session, learn alternatives to all-out strategic analysis where you can see change sooner, experience the satisfaction that your time is well-spent, and know you’re on the right track to realizing results. Learn how to use simple tools that everyone on your team can adopt and find ways to implement.   

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to:

  • Effectively implement the WWW/TALA tool for after-action event or project analysis.
  • Describe, use, and prescribe the MT goal format – the more actionable version of the SMART goal format which yields much of the same results.
  • Use quick techniques for addressing stuck or neglected action plans quickly and effectively. 

High Stakes Decision Making

What do you do when the pressure is on and the stakes are high?

The solution is to plan and prepare, and this session will give you the skills, tools, and knowledge specifically for those situations. When you’re well-prepared, the high stress, high risk decisions won’t seem like no-win impossibilities.

In this session, you will learn by doing. You will explore proven techniques that are inclusive, easy to use, and can be accomplished in short periods of time. These techniques will be demonstrated by using current, relevant examples, then you will apply them by participating in a simple case study: The Colfax Zoo.

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to: 

  1. Understand and use strategies for prioritization.
  2. Effectively implement the WWW/TALA tool for project analysis.
  3. Describe and use the MT goal format. 
  4. Apply the WWW/TALA method to 1) evaluate programs or initiatives and 2) to ease succession planning. 
  5. Combine all learned strategies and techniques to solve high-stakes problems at The Colfax Zoo.

Servant Leadership

When we boil down all we know about good leadership, we are left with a two-word action plan: Meet needs.

In this session, you will learn the principles of Alan’s Eight Component Leadership Model to help you move leadership theory into actionable content and start leading—not by control, but by meeting needs. 

With content that is research-based and proven in the real world, delivery will be fast-paced and high-energy, combining storytelling, discussion, and activity.

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to:

  1. Asking “What more can be done?” and then acting on it. (Service)
  2. Accurately describe both the ideal state of their group and the current state of their group. (Vision)
  3. Maintaining high standards of work and doing what they say they will do. (Integrity)
  4. Listen with complete focus on the speaker. (Communication) 
  5. Speak well, clearly, specifically, and in ways that show respect to the listener. (Communication)
  6. Address specific actions and/or behavior and not attitude or assumed mindset. (Communication)
  7. Demonstrate/model everything they ask others to do. (Modeling)
  8. When corrected or they learn a new way of doing something, adjust what they do accordingly. (Stretching and Growing)
  9. Be positive. (Positivity)
  10. Engage in actions and communications that show others they care about the work/cause/organization. (Passion)

Four-Step Feedback

It can be hard to receive feedback. A lot of managers don’t like giving it. But feedback, both positive and critical, is the best and least expensive tool leaders use to drive engagement and productivity. Without consistent feedback, people are unsure of what behaviors to continue and which ones need to change.

In this session, common objections to giving feedback will be addressed. Research and best practices indicate that employees thrive when feedback is specific, direct, behavior-based, frequent and future-oriented.

Participants will develop the following Workplace Competencies, being able to:

  1. Overcome their own objections to giving feedback.
  2. Effectively use tools that address performance appraisal.
  3. Understand and effectively implement strategies that address performance management.
  4. Undersand and apply the proper ratio for giving feedback.
