Improve Your Teamwork

Alan says…

Some of the most intense work I’ve done at Kemin has been with teams. Trust needs to be built carefully and deliberately, and relationships need to be tended in order to keep that trust intact. Understanding each others work styles is a good start, because personal trust can fade if we let each other down in the lab, the conference room, or on the floor. We can’t just do “team building” – we need to build the skills that help us get work done together.

Start Here: Tier One

Everything DiSC Workplace

Everything DiSC® is a simple work style assessment tool that gives you a robust understanding of your communication priorities and habits. Upon completing the assessment, you receive long-term support and virtual access to your results via the Catalyst platform. Catalyst provides easy navigation to personal DiSC styles and visual learning tools to coach pairs of co-workers on their working relationships. This is a popular assessment across all of  Kemin Industries and leaders appreciate the shared vocabulary.

5 Behaviors – Personal Development

The Five Behaviors® Personal Development teaches the Five Dysfunctions of a team and how your own preferences contribute to the overall team culture. Learn to use specific tools to build trust, master conflict, achieve commitment, embrace accountability, and focus on results, with specific accountability steps in each area.

If you’ve done both of the above and want more, move to:

Tier Two

Multipliers

(if you are in a leadership role)

Multipliers® addresses the key differences between a Multiplier and an Accidental Diminisher. Explore how to multiply talent by developing the tools to give your team members space to allow them to work smarter and develop their full potential. You’ll reduce the impact of diminisher tendencies, and grow in the four Multiplier behaviors: ask better questions, look for genius, create space for others, and offer bigger challenges.

Everything DiSC Agile EQ

(if you are an individual contributor)

Everything DiSC®Agile EQ equips you to read the emotional and interpersonal needs of a situation and respond accordingly. Discover ways to navigate outside your comfort zones, and be empowered to meet the demands of any situation. This material is powerful and challenging, and especially helpful for servant leaders. Upon completing the assessment, you receive long-term support and virtual access to your results via the Catalyst platform. Catalyst provides easy navigation to personal DiSC styles and visual learning tools to coach pairs of co-workers on their working relationships.

Leading by Influence

(if you are an individual contributor)

Leading by Influence draws on Patrick Lencioni’s three virtues of an ideal team player: humble, smart, and hungry. You will learn how positive working relationships and consistent modeling of expectations are powerful. Some Business Units use these virtues in the hiring process, and Alan has provided that consultation for us as well.
